Preparing Youth for Adulthood
Preparing Youth for Adulthood (PYA) Program provides support for youth age 14 to 21 as they seek to transition from placement to the challenging task of adulthood sustainability. Our program is designed to set developmentally appropriate expectations that encourage youth to achieve their highest potential in interpersonal relationship, career, education, and personal interest; provide opportunities for youth to have the education and/or vocational training they need to succeed in the job market; and enable youth to be able to plan responsibly to meet their own needs for housing, finance, food, clothing, health and safety as they mature into adulthood. PYA services occur while a youth is in placement and during our aftercare and discharge support.
Our Supports System Includes:
Discharge Planning • Housing • Health/Health Insurance • Education/Vocational Planning • Financial/Credit Literacy• Employment Readiness Services • Opportunities for Adult Permanency Resources • Continuing Support Services (Counseling) • Vital Document
