Our Mission

At Martin de Porres Youth & Family Services we offer the opportunities necessary to maximize the potential of the youth and families entrusted to our care, and we believe, that when given the means and support, everyone can become more self-sustaining. Our Trauma Informed Lasallian Culture of Care® model embraces all without distinction and our programs and interventions are developed to “Touch Hearts, Instill Hope and Transform Lives.”

Our Vision

We envision a city in which no child or family is left marginalized or vulnerable to the intractable ills of society. We see ourselves as agents of change and by our work, we will transform the lives of each child and each family entrusted to our care, so they become empowered and self-sustaining.

Our Values

  • Compassion – We will display sympathetic piety for the suffering and misfortune of others and work diligently to lift them from their current circumstances.
  • Cultural Sensitivity – We will seek to learn about those who are culturally different than we are, so we can understand how to serve them better in their own communities.
  • Faith – Our programs are inspired by Christian values, but sensitive to other religious and cultural traditions. We will put our trust in the higher power that binds us together to make our various communities better for all.
  • Generosity – We will exhibit kindness and selflessness in our efforts to help those entrusted to our care.
  • Honesty – We will exhibit integrity and uprightness in our work and interaction with each other as we strive to affect positive change in our community
  • Interdependence – We will diligently encourage the understanding that each person’s life is made more meaningful and can be more fulfilled, if they build mutually beneficial relationships with other people.
  • JusticeWe will commit to fairness and equality as essential and necessary characteristics in order to provide the best quality of service to the children and families in our care. To serve them without these two characteristics would be doing them an injustice.
  • Perseverance – We will be steadfast in our efforts to affect positive change with the children and family in our care despite the difficulties placed in the way of achieving success.
  • Responsibility – We will hold each other accountable for making decisions that will have a long lasting progressive impact on the community, our work, and the individual.
  • Quality – We will commit our talents and energy to provide service that can be seen by all as the hallmark of excellence.
