YA WORC – Young Adult Work Opportunities for Rewarding Careers
In 2017, Martin De Porres and Columbia University Work Place Center piloted the Young Adults Work Opportunities for Rewarding Careers (YA WORC) program.
The purpose of YA WORC is to connect our youth to meaningful careers and prepare them for economic self-sufficiency by helping them to plan a career path and gain the skills and knowledge to move along the path.
- YA WORC participation and individual services significantly increased career readiness and confidence for youth in placement.
- Work experience while enrolled in YA WORC significantly increased the chances that a youth in placement continued employment after participation.
